We are pleased to announce we have selected Shooting Star Chase as our charity of choice, and throughout 2016 we will be taking part in various events to raise money for this fantastic cause.
Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, the fantastic staff at Shooting Star Chase are there to make every moment count. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
Their bespoke support is free of charge to families and is available 365 days a year. Their care service includes short breaks at their two hospices (Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford), Hospice at Home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family.
It costs £10 million a year just to maintain their current level of care. Around 10% of that income comes from government funding, so they rely on their supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. What’s more, they know that there are many more families desperate for their vital support, so it’s crucial they raise more funds to provide more care.
If you would like to help us support the incredible work that Shooting Star Chase carry out, we have set up a JustGiving page which you can visit by clicking here. Any donation is appreciated and will help Shooting Star Chase continue to make a difference for families in need of care and support.
